Simpsonize Me

Phelpster at The Manchester Morgue posted about this the other day, so I thought I'd give it a try.
Here's the link to get Simpsonized. It seems to be a very busy site. If the server is busy, you'll have to try again later. If you manage to get on you'll have to upload a picture of yourself and then tweek it to get turned into a Simpsons character.
The accompaning pictures are me, my wife, my son and my nephew. My son's picture looks the most like him and my wife's the least.

Happy Anniversary To Me!

I started this blog a year ago today. Happy Anniversary to me! I hope that everyone has gotten a little enjoyment out of it.

WONDERFUL WONDERBLOG ORIGINS

Here's a quote from one of my first posts--

"I got the name for my blog from the old Sid & Marty Krofft show 'Wonderbug' (actually my brother suggested it). We were kids in the 70's and watched most of the Krofft shows. My favorites were 'Land Of The Lost' and 'Sigmund And The Sea Monsters.' They don't make 'em like that anymore."

Download the Wonderbug theme song (audio only) --> here <--.

Read about Wonderbug here.

And here's the beginning of the show from YouTube--

Paul Lynde Halloween Special

Here's the news release from S'more Entertainment--

"On October 2, S'more Entertainment will be releasing the amazingly bizarre, iconic and entertaining “Paul Lynde Halloween Special” as a single DVD at $14.99! Not only is the resplendent Lynde in fine form in this October 1976 TV special, he’s joined by Margaret Hamilton (who dons the entire costume from The Wizard of Oz” for the only time since the original 1939 release, including the green make-up). She is joined by Witchie Poo (Billie Hayes) from “H.R. Pufnstuf” playing her ‘sister’, Tim Conway, Donnie and Marie Osmond, Billy Barty, Roz “Pinkie Tuscadero” Kelly”, Betty White, Florence Henderson and as musical guests…….KISS, in their first TV appearance! KISS performs 3 songs and the footage of them on stage ‘talking’ with Lynde is priceless."

Read about the special on IMDB.

Pre-order it from Amazon.

This is definately on my "to buy" list.

World War Hulk

I've been a fan of the Hulk since I was a kid in the 70's. The first issue I remember getting was #191 featuring The Shaper Of Worlds and The Toad Men.

The current story arc is called "World War Hulk". It's one of the best stories since Peter David quit writing The Hulk many years ago. Here's a little info about it from the Marvel Comics website--

"They have chased the Hulk all over the world. They refused to let him live in peace. They have tried to destroy him at every turn. The puny humans. Now those he once called friends have betrayed him, sending him out to the farthest reaches of space in an attempt to exile him. Mr. Fantastic. Iron Man. Black Bolt. Dr. Strange. And the rest of the puny humans. Hulk is stronger than them. Hulk is stronger than everyone. And he's going to get his revenge. He's never going to stop making them pay. There will be a war. World War Hulk."

And here's a teaser trailer--

General Cinema

I grew up going to the General Cinemas in the 1970's, 80's and 90's and I always enjoyed their trailers before the movies. Sadly they were bought out by AMC Theatres in 2002.
