OK, I guess we can forget about a Thankgiving Countdown :). Let's move on to some other stuff.
Back on August 11, I shared my version of a record I had in the 70's called Funny Bone Favorites. You can still download it here. I decided to make another volume called, amazingly, Funny Bone Favorites Volume II. Just like the original, all the songs are from the 1970's or earlier.
Track Listing
1. The Ballad Of Bilbo Baggins - Leonard Nimoy
2. Daffy Duck's Rhapsody - Mel Blanc
3. Gitarzan - Ray Stevens
4. God Bless My Underwear - Peter Pan Singers
5. Hello Muddah, Hello Fadduh - Allan Sherman
6. Inka Dinka Doo - Jimmy Durante
7. King Tut - Steve Martin
8. Lumberjack Song - Monty Python
9. Mahna Mahna - Mahna Mahna & The Two Snowths
10. Mr. Jaws - Dickie Goodman
11. My Ding-A-Ling - Chuck Berry
12. Popcorn - Hot Butter
13. Rubber Biscuit - The Blues Brothers
14. Shaving Cream - Benny Bell
15. The Streak - Ray Stevens
16. Surfin' Bird - The Trashmen
17. They're Coming To Take Me Away, Ha-haaa! - Napoleon XIV
18. Tie Me Kangaroo Down, Sport - Rolf Harris
19. Ting-A-Ling-A-Loo - Benny Hill

This is great....I went to your original Funny Bone post, and I actually remember that album, and the goofy commercial that Ronco played on tv to advertise it (remember those cheesy animated commercials they had?). This is how old novelty tune compilations should be represented or re-created, in this manner: by compiling the tracks from modern CD sources for the quality.
Only gripe I have, Erick, are the download limitations that RapidSh*te has....I just got Volume 1 but have to wait two hours before I can try to download Volume 2.
Great posting, though! :-)
Secret if you're using a modem. Turn it off for 30 seconds, and back on. Then try downloading another RS file. It usually works because their site reads the new IP Addy the modem has as being a different downloader.
Dave
I'm on high-speed cable.....Nothing like that works for me. I've tried it many times with no luck. I'm basically stuck....can't even use one of those anonymous browsing sites/links.....they won't work for downloading from any place like MegaUpload, RapidSh*te, etc.
Erick, I posted a correction on my blog about where I got this from - somehow I was confused and I thought it was in fact one of my actual Ronco albums I had recorded and not a compilation you made (I think I lost a few too many brain cells during the october madness or something - sigh.)
Anyway, I gave you credit, but if you would rather have me remove it totally from my post I will - just let me know.
Also - Wow! How odd that you were talking about a Thanksgiving countdown right before posting this last year as I've always associated these kinds of albums with Thanksgiving (which is in and of itself odd.)
I'm still recovering from the Halloween countdown this year by the way, so its probably a good thing the Thanksgiving countdown concept didn't catch on or I'd be dead by now ;)
Azathoth,
No need to remove it. I don't mind if you share it.
It's a good thing the Thanksgiving Countdown didn't happen. I wouldn't have been able to keep up.
Happy Holidays!
Ok, Thanks :)
Man, I still can't believe I made that mistake - I don't know what I was on when I made that post yesterday but I must have been on something :P
Do you happen to know what year Funny Bone Favorites Volume II was released? I've been searching online and haven't found any details. Thanks for your help and for a great blog!
Well, it was "released" in 2007. That's when I made this compilation.
Thanks for the Funny Bone I!
I got it for Christmas one year, and wore that record out when I was a kid. Brings back the memories, it does.
Checking out FB:II now. Thanks again for putting these together!
Any chance of a reupload as the link is down?
Volume 1 is still active and many thanks for posting that. Having downloaded it I would really appreciate hearing this one too.
Thanks in advance.
This has made me re-think some stuff. If you don’t want to get your information stolen easily while on free Wi-Fi then you need a VPN. Go here to see the best ones compared to each other http://thebestproxyserver.com/private-internet-access-vpn-review/
Any chance of a reupload of the Ronco funny bone favorites 1 and 2 that you had up? Thanks!
please reupload this
