Lucky Devil
I'm disappointed with the Ohio Lottery this year. They've had Halloween themed scratch off tickets every year since I started posting these in 2008. Last year was The Walking Dead and in 2013 it was Ghostbusters. They do have this ticket called "Lucky Devil", although it's not meant to be a Halloween ticket.
I bought two tickets and neither one was a winner. Bummer. Maybe next year!

How I Made My Shrek Costume
When my wife and I decided to dress up as Shrek and Fiona, we googled a bunch of tutorials and YouTube videos on how to make the costumes. Below are some photos of how I made mine.
I found a brown sweater vest and a tan long sleeve Henley shirt at the thrift store. I cut the vest in half right above my belly and cut off the collar and the bottom of the sleeves on the shirt. I also rubbed some coffee grounds on the shirt to stain it up a bit.
I made the ears using a pair of devil horns I already had and hot glued some green felt around them.
The day of the party I shaved my head and cut off my beard!
I used a shoe string to tie the vest together. Bought some brown and green checkered lounge pants at a discount store. Buckled a belt around mah belly. Used green grease paint make-up on my hands and head and drew on some bigger and darker eyebrows. That's about it. Hope you enjoyed my Shrek costume!

My wife and I went to a Halloween party Saturday night. It was the first time we have been to a party in many years and we had a blast! We only knew the host and hostess, but everyone was really cool. Lots of great food and costumes and a little bit of booze! lol

Glendale Cemetery
I took some photos at Glendale Cemetery in Akron, Ohio. It's really quite beautiful. Here's a little history from their website:
"Glendale is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It was established in 1839 by Dr. J.D. Commins, who visited Mount Auburn Cemetery in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and was inspired to create the same park-like setting for a cemetery in Akron. The cemetery features a wide variety of architectural styles that draw upon ancient building forms. Mausoleums are modeled after Egyptian, Greek and Roman temples or Gothic churches. The stately mausoleums and symbolic statues are scattered throughout, honoring prominent citizens of Akron, including politicians, industrialists, and Akron socialites."Some notable interments:
- Frank Seiberling, early 20th century industrialist. Founder of the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company and the Seiberling Rubber Company.
- John Buchtel, businessman and founder of Buchtel College, the predecessor of the University of Akron.
- Ohio Columbus Barber, industrialist and philanthropist. Founder of the Barber Match Company and the city of Barberton, Ohio.
- John F. Seiberling, U.S. Congressman and grandson of Goodyear founder F.A. Seiberling.
- Lewis Miller, philanthropist and inventor.
- William Hanford Upson, 19th century politician, lawyer, and judge.
- George Washington Crouse, U.S. Congressman.
