Are You Ready For Some Football?

Does anyone have any novelty football songs? The ones usually made by local personalities about NFL teams or players. I've only got one track and it's a Christmas song called The 12 Days of a Cleveland Browns Christmas. I'd like to put together a compilation of these songs. If anyone has any, could you email an mp3 of the song to me? I'll post the compilation before football season ends (if I get anything).

Speaking of football, Sunday is the Pittsburg Steelers vs the Cleveland Browns. I've been a life-long Steelers fan while my wife roots for the Clowns Browns. It should be a fun afternoon.

Erick, you should check out The Mad Music Archive....you can do a search there using any number of football-related terms and possibly find at least information (if not individual downloads) for songs you need. Just on the search I did for "football" I got 30 song title matches.

I have the song/rap that Walter Payton & Refrigerator Perry did, called 'Together'. I'd be glad to get that to you if you want it.

I don't have actual mp3's of any of these, but I have heard a few of them.

There's "The Big Orange" by Andy Griffith. Not a song, but it's a football-related comedy routine.

There's the 'Superbowl Shuffle' that came out some time in the '80's, a rap song done by the Bears.

Goldie Hawn did a movie about being coach of a high school football team... I think it's the one IMDB has listed as 'Wildcats' aka 'First and Goal' The closing credits have a pretty cute song about football done by Goldie & the players. Maybe you could rip it off the dvd.

The 'Harvard Fight Song' by Tom Lehrer.. not specifically football oriented, but it's pretty goofy.

Those sound funny....yeah, I recall the Superbowl Shuffle when it was out. Yes, that Goldie movie is indeed called WILDCATS.

"The Cool Ghoul's Phantasmagorical Funky Fonograf Record" has a piece called "Poem And Fite Song". The "Fite Song" portion (you'd have to edit it apart from the "Poem" portion of the track) is a great football cheer takeoff that would be suitable on your compilation.

Just remembered another one - the same year as the Bears' 'Super Bowl Shuffle', their opponents in the SB - the Patriots'- put out their own record.

As I recall it was basically a session singers affair, celebrating the team. I think it was called 'New England, the Patriots and Me'. Or something like that. Has to be floating around somewhere online.
