Atlantic City: It's A Toy Store

A little over a week ago my wife and I spent a week in Atlantic City, NJ. I'm gonna (hopefully) make some posts about all of the cool things we saw there.

First up is toy store not too far away from Atlantic City in Richland, NJ. It's called "It's A Toy Store". They had a pretty good selection of vintage toys. Unfortunately there credit card machine wasn't working and I didn't have a lot of cash on me. But, I still picked up a couple of cool items for my collection. A Whitman Incredible Hulk round puzzle from 1982 for $3 and a 1975 7-11 Marvel Comics Dracula cup for $5.

Visit them on Facebook.

Flea Market-ing

This morning I went to the Hartville Marketplace & Flea Market. Memorial Day is one of the biggest days for the flea market, with over 100 indoor vendors and 1000 outside vendors. I only got through a couple of aisles of outside vendors before it started to rain. Below are photos of most of stuff I managed to buy. I also bought a bunch of vegetables, but I didn't think you'd want to see pictures of them.

A bunch of Show'n Tell Picturesound Programs, all for $3.00. Captain Kangaroo Musical Band, Small World, Puss in Boots and The Princess and the Pea are all complete. Swiss Family Robinson and The Ginger Bread Man are missing the records. Captain Kangaroo When You Were a Baby record and film key. And an extra Swiss Family Robinson film key.

Movie Monsters #4 from 1975, Monsters Attack! #1 from 1989, Classics Illustrated #138: A Journey to the Center of the Earth from 1957, Marvel Feature #9: The Astonishing Ant-Man from 1973.
50¢ each.

An unopened box of Super Country Music trading cards for $3.00.

Yard Sale-ing

Saturday I went yard sale-ing with my wife. Since I don't drive and don't have any friends, she carts my butt around town and just sits in the car while I look through other people's junk. I [heart] that woman.

I already showed you what I found on Friday  and a book I got on Saturday. Here's the rest of my Saturday haul --

Hot Wheels: Two Halloween 2-packs and the A-Team van for 50¢ each.
Mystery Machine and Flintmobile for $1.00 each.

Kermit pajamas $1.00. Dick Tracy Thermos $1.00.
Frosty 75¢. Fast food "Creature" 25¢.

Almost 3 foot tall blowmold ghost for $5.00.

I think I got a pretty good deal on all of this stuff.
Monday I'm going to a local flea market. Hopefully I'll find some more "treasures" there.

Happy hunting!

My Jedi Shirt

Yes, I'm a great big dork! :)

Star Wars: A Pop-Up Guide to the Galaxy Promo Book

I found this at a yard sale today for 50¢. This is a promotional item for the book "Star Wars: A Pop-Up Guide to the Galaxy". It came out in 2007 to "celebrate the 30th anniversary of the greatest space fantasy saga in history."

30 Years of Return of the Jedi

30 years ago today Return of the Jedi was released. To celebrate, here are some videos.

The trailer.

From 1983 here is a clip from Nickelodeon's Standby: Lights! Camera! Action! hosted by Leonard Nimoy. Star Wars meets Star Trek. A precursor of Episode VII?

Deleted scene.

Sy Snootles and the Rebo Band toy commercial.

Original ending.

For more celebration, check out John Rozum's blog. He's been doing a Return of the Jedi post every day this month. And Neato Coolville is having a ROTJ week.

Peanut Butter and Frosted Chocolate Peanut Butter Pop-Tarts!?!
My life is now complete.

Garage Sale Finds

I went to a garage sale this morning and saw all of this wonderful Mego Micronauts stuff. He wanted $175 for all of it. He said most of the pieces should be there, but they are mixed between all of the boxes. One of the boxes also had Microtron, a few Time Travelers, Space Glider, Repto (missing his brain), parts of Acroyear II and a few of the small vehicles. He would only sell it as a lot. Unfortunately I didn't have the cash.

I did buy four plastic Star Wars cups from 1977 for $1.00 and an E.T. glass for $1.00.
