Memorial Day Flea Market Finds

I spent a few hours of my Memorial Day like I usually do. At the Hartville MarketPlace and Flea Market. I love this place! Here's what I picked up --

This guy had two tables piled with tons of little toys and other misc. junk. Everything was 25¢ each. I dug through it all and came away with these. I believe they are vintage 1978 Tim Mee Toys Galaxy Laser Team figures. I've read about them online before and always thought they looked neat. I've never owned any until now. I also got a couple of my favorite (non) dinosaur, the Dimetrodon!

There were 10 packs of 1984's A Nightmare On Elm Street stickers in the box. The dealer said he'd sell them to me for $7.00 and throw in the box. I couldn't pass up that deal. Now I need to find the sticker book to put them in. I also picked up another Dimetrodon. This one is a McDonald's Diener dinosaur.

For $3.00 I got this 1978 Eegee Dolly Parton action figure (it's not a doll damnit!).

One of my favorite finds is this unsharpened 1978 Incredible Hulk pencil. It was only a buck! It's a great addition to my vintage Hulk collection.

I'm slowly rebuilding my Smurf army. I sold most of my Smurf collection back in the 1990s. These were $1.00 each.

Another seller had a bunch of different little PVC figures for $3.00 each or two for $5.00. That's a little more than I like to spend on these. But, I paid the extra because these were Halloween themed.

Dinosaurs Big Songs CD from 1992 for $2.00. I can't wait to listen to this! "Not the mama!"

And lastly a Marvel Comics cardboard box for $5.00 that the seller thinks was from the early 1990s and used to have some kind of collector's kit in it. I just liked the old school graphics on it. He also had a huge stack of this April 1978 issue of Marvel's Pizzazz magazine for a dollar each. I bought one for and one for my brother.

Thought I'd get this in before The Countdown To Halloween starts.

Hulk tray puzzle $1.00. BootLego Hulk $4.00.

I found these Smurfs buried under some Christmas stuff at a booth where everything was 3 for  a $1.00!

Labor Day Flea Market Finds

How's everyone's Labor Day going?

I went to Hartville Marketplace & Flea Market this morning. They are open all year but Labor Day and Memorial Day are there biggest days.

Here's the junk treasures that I bought.

Monster Mash, Frankenstein and The Flintstones small records. He wanted $5 each for them. I said I was only interested in the monster records, so he threw in The Flintstones for free.

1976 King Kong mug and naked Mego Action Jackson for $3 each. Fisher Price Sesame Street Mr. Hooper for $1.

Four old Halloween decorations and two Red Barn Restaurant paper masks for $5. Four Halloween cookie cutters for $2.

Dynamite magazine for $2 and 18 unopened packs of Battlestar Galactica cards for $10.

And I also bought a bunch of fruits and vegetables. But I didn't take pictures of them.

The Halloween and monster stuff  will be showcased during the October Countdown to Halloween.

I hope everyone in the USA is enjoying there holiday!

Flea Market-ing

This morning I went to the Hartville Marketplace & Flea Market. Memorial Day is one of the biggest days for the flea market, with over 100 indoor vendors and 1000 outside vendors. I only got through a couple of aisles of outside vendors before it started to rain. Below are photos of most of stuff I managed to buy. I also bought a bunch of vegetables, but I didn't think you'd want to see pictures of them.

A bunch of Show'n Tell Picturesound Programs, all for $3.00. Captain Kangaroo Musical Band, Small World, Puss in Boots and The Princess and the Pea are all complete. Swiss Family Robinson and The Ginger Bread Man are missing the records. Captain Kangaroo When You Were a Baby record and film key. And an extra Swiss Family Robinson film key.

Movie Monsters #4 from 1975, Monsters Attack! #1 from 1989, Classics Illustrated #138: A Journey to the Center of the Earth from 1957, Marvel Feature #9: The Astonishing Ant-Man from 1973.
50¢ each.

An unopened box of Super Country Music trading cards for $3.00.

Labor Day Flea Market Finds

Happy Labor Day! I went to the Hartville Flea Market in Hartville, OH this morning. I usually go every Labor Day and Memorial Day if it's not raining. They have a fair amount of dealers selling old toys, comics, cards, games, glasses, lunchboxes. etc. I was at the flea market for about two hours and only got through half of it. I would stay longer, but I don't drive and my wife doesn't care for flea markets. Two hours is about as long as she will sit in the car by herself waiting for me to come back with bags full of more "junk" lol. Here's what I added to my toy collection --

Krofft Supershow Presents Kaptain Kool and the Kongs Magic Slate for $4.00. I don't think there was a whole lot of merchandising for them.

Mego Micronauts Microtron ($12.00) and Force Commander's steed Oberon ($18.00). I love Micronauts! They're not complete, but they will look good on display (if I ever get around to displaying them).

And three Hero Clix. The Thing, The Hulk and Doc Samson. This guy had a big ol' box of these figures for 3 for $1.00.

I could have bought a bunch more toys, but I was kinda on a budget (and the wife woulda killed me). They also have a farmer's market and I bought a dozen ears of corn for $3.00 and two lbs. of fresh green beans for $2.00.
