Spooky Movies at the Library

Does your local library show movies? Ours does. The Akron-Summit County Public Library Main Library shows movies every Thursday night on the big screen in the auditorium. During October they show a couple of old horror flicks. This year you have to register before you can see the movie. Just in case they have to contact you because of a last minute cancellation because of Covid. Here's this year's movies --

Oh man, sign me up for The Ghost and Mr. Chicken! It's a yearly (and sometimes more than yearly) staple in our house. Happy Halloween, Erik!

I'm pretty sure I saw the Ghost and Mr. Chicken when I was young, but I don't really remember it. I should probably go see it.

The Ghost and Mr. Chicken is a classic. It always played on our local independent channels here in St. Louis. Maybe this will ring a bell: "And they used Bon Ami!"

The Thing is on BBC iPlayer at the moment, available for a year. I might try to watch it.

I watched The Thing From Another World a few months ago on BBC iPlayer (as mentioned above by Guillaume). Earlier this year I also read the original story "Who Goes There" by John W. Campbell which the film is based on. The original short story was published in 1938 but it's much closer to the 1982 remake (The Thing) than the 1951 movie.
