Stuff I Got For Christmas Part 2

Sorry it took so long for this post. I've been deathly ill for the past week. But, I'm feeling much better now. :)

Here's the rest of the non-Hulk pop culture stuff I got for Christmas. Everything is from my wife unless noted.

2011 Diamond Select Frankenstein figure, ReAction Freddy Krueger and a skull sucker.

Snow Miser and Heat Miser Funko Pop! figures.
Rudolph and Bumble notepads.

Mystery Minis! Nebula from GOTG and Loki and Thanos from Marvel.
Loki is 1/144 and Thanos 1/72. Both rare figures!

 Hallmark Keepsake Ornaments.
Frano Harris "The Immaculate Reception" and The Legendary Leg Lamp.

Star Wars Imperial Cherry Sours, Jelly Belly Galaxy Mix,
Yoda Lightsaber Lip Balm and KISS playing cards.

Books! The Nearly Complete Essential Hembeck Archives Omnibus, Comic Books 101 and two Peanuts hardcover books from the late 1960s.

Seven packs of Stupid Heroes, one pack of Heroes and two packs of Mars Attacks Invasion from my wife. Two packs of Star Wars Galaxy 7 from my brother.

 Yay! Stupid Heroes sketch card!
Butter Boy by Neil Camera.

My son bought me the Lord of the Rings Trilogy and the first two Hobbit movies on blu-ray. I haven't seen the Hobbit movies yet.

I also got two more t-shirts. But, they're in the dirty laundry and I didn't feel like digging them out. Superman logo from my wife and Guns 'n Roses from a fellow co-worker.

Non-geeky stuff I got: lounge pants, slippers, blanket, knee brace, assorted candies and a bacon press!

All in all it was a pretty great holiday!

Added Some New Sketch Cards To My Collection

My wife bought me a box of Mars Attacks Invasion (Topps/2013) this past Christmas. Here's the sketch card I pulled from it. Martian by Douglas Paszkiewicz.

A few weeks ago I bought some packs of Women of Marvel Series 2 (Rittenhouse Archives/2013) and pulled this two card SketchaFEX puzzle of Magik and Emma Frost by Maurico Dias.

What Did You Get For Christmas?

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas. I sure did. My wife indulges my nerdery! Here's most of what I got.

Hulk stuff from my wife.

Marvel 3 3/4 inch action figures from my wife.

Heroes Season 1 DVD from my wife. Blu-rays from my son. He also got us a blu-ray player. I guess it's about time we joined the 21st century! :)

A couple of Uncle John's Bathroom Readers and a People of Walmart boxed calendar from my wife.

Trading cards from my wife. I'll probably blog about the Mars Attacks Invasion cards in a later post.

Mars Attacks My Birthday!

My birthday is Sunday July 29, but I celebrated a day early. My wife took me to The Toys Time Forgot ( a local vintage toy store; see some pics I took there a few months ago here). She gave me some money and said "buy whatever you want". Wow, was that tough. I wanted everything! Here's what I ended up with --

An unopened box of the new Mars Attacks Heritage trading cards from Topps. This card set is beautiful. It reprints the original 55 Mars Attacks cards from 50 years ago plus has some new cards called Deleted Scenes and New Universe. I got a full set of base cards, some of the inserts (the 3-D cards are great) and this one-of-a-kind sketch card by artist Ingrid Hardy.

I also bought a vintage Marx Hulk figure from 1967.

And six packs of Battle of the Planets trading cards by Dynamic Forces from 2002. I pulled this wonderful sketch of Keyop by Dan Parsons.

We went to breakfast at IHOP and dinner at The Brick House. Not too bad of a day. A great big thank you to my wonderful wife for making this all happen. She's a keeper :)

Last weekend I went to the North Coast Comic Con here in Akron (it sucked), but I did commission artist Don Pedicini Jr. to draw me a Hulk sketch card. I got it in the mail Friday.
